Avantree Harmony 2 Multi-Room Wireless Speaker System

The Avantree Harmony 2 (model WSSP-5308P) is a wireless multi-room speaker package that uses a dedicated transmitter rather than a local Wi-Fi network to broadcast synchronised audio across indoor spaces. The transmitter accepts audio feeds from a television, computer, or phone using optical, 3.5mm AUX, or Bluetooth inputs. It then broadcasts that signal across a proprietary 2.4GHz radio frequency link to paired portable speakers. Each speaker delivers 15W of nominal output power through dual drivers and bass radiators, powered by an internal 3000mAh rechargeable battery rated by Avantree for up to six hours of playback.

Who it suits

This system suits Australian listeners who want multi-room sound distribution without managing local network configurations, streaming accounts, or dedicated mobile applications. Because Avantree states transmission latency is under 30 milliseconds, the Harmony 2 works well for mirroring television audio or radio broadcasts from a lounge room into an adjoining kitchen or home office without disorienting echoes or dialogue delay. It is practical for renters and entertainers who cannot install fixed multi-zone wiring and want portable units that can be moved freely between rooms. Each speaker can also be unlinked to serve as a standalone Bluetooth speaker when away from the transmitter.

Conversely, households wanting a voice-controlled smart home ecosystem should skip this model. It contains no microphones, no Wi-Fi hardware, and no platform compatibility for Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Matter, or Home Assistant. It cannot stream independently from internet services like Spotify Connect, requiring a connected external source device to supply all media.

Australian notes

The transmitter and speakers charge using standard 5V/2A USB Type-C connections. As with many imported audio sets, Australian buyers should use a certified USB power adaptor displaying the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) when running the transmitter permanently from mains power. Because the system transmits via its own direct 2.4GHz signal rather than joining your router, it will not consume bandwidth on home NBN connections. Units purchased through local Australian stockists or Amazon AU are covered by standard statutory consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
