Features and specifications in this description are as the brand describes them.

Overview

The Onvis Smart Button Thread is a wireless control device designed for Apple HomeKit smart home systems. According to the manufacturer, it uses the Thread protocol to offer faster response times and greater energy efficiency than Wi-Fi or Bluetooth alternatives. The device requires a Thread-enabled Apple Home hub such as an Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini or second-generation HomePod set as the connected hub.

The button measures 5.5 by 5.5 by 2 centimetres and weighs 63 grams. It can be mounted using the included magnetic holder or adhesive backing, and the brand says it functions as both a wall-mounted switch and a handheld remote. A CR2450 lithium battery is included, and the manufacturer states that the low-power Thread and Bluetooth 5.0 protocols extend battery life.
