Mirabella Genio 3m Wi-Fi LED Strip Light

The Mirabella Genio 3m Wi-Fi LED Strip Light (model I002579) is a flexible low-voltage lighting strip intended for ambient and accent lighting around the home. Mirabella states that the strip combines multi-colour RGB lighting with dedicated cool white diodes, outputting between 900 and 1,000 lumens across its three-metre length. The device connects directly to local Wi-Fi without needing a separate automation hub. Through the Mirabella Genio mobile application, users can adjust brightness, set automated operating timers, choose preset colour modes, and link the strip to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice control.

Who it suits

This strip light suits homeowners and apartment dwellers looking for accent lighting behind televisions, underneath desks, or along kitchen kickboards without modifying electrical wiring. Because it operates on a supplied 12V 1A plug pack that connects into a standard domestic 240V power outlet, it is fully DIY and does not require a licensed tradesperson. Renters and DIY decorators will appreciate the self-adhesive backing tape, which facilitates tool-free placement along clean, flat surfaces.

Households standardising their automation on Apple Home or Matter will want to skip this model, as it is limited to the Tuya-based Genio ecosystem alongside Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Users looking for warm white ambient illumination should also look elsewhere; retailer specifications note the dedicated white diode is fixed to cool white rather than providing a tunable colour temperature spectrum.

Australian notes

Mirabella is an Australian lighting brand, and this product is widely available across major national retailers such as Target, Kmart, and Big W, supported by a 12-month manufacturer warranty. It ships with an Australian-standard power adaptor configured for 240V mains input. While the flexible strip itself carries an IP65 ingress rating, Mirabella's manual specifies that the power supply and connection points are not water-resistant and must remain indoors at all times.

Renters should note that high-tack backing tape can remove wall paint or plasterboard finish upon removal; confirm local tenancy rules regarding surface modifications and patching before sticking down fixtures. Setup requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. For households using Australian ISP-supplied equipment like the Telstra Smart Modem, Mirabella recommends temporarily separating 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands or disabling band steering during initial pairing if connection issues arise.
